Changes to GST Formula Remains the Biggest Threat to NSW Budget
The 2009-10 Half-Yearly Budget Review released today by NSW Treasurer Eric Roozendaal provided further confirmation that the NSW economy was strengthening, said NSW Business Chamber.  However, the Treasury has flagged its concerns about the potential $2 billion black hole that could occur through a re-calculation of the GST formula by the Commonwealth Grants Commission.

NSW Emergng From The Economc Doldrums Says Business Survey
NSW businesses are feeling more optimistic about the future according to the latest Business Conditions Survey undertaken by NSW Business Chamber.

“Across every measure, businesses are more confident about sales, business conditions, exports, profits and employment.  This is good news for NSW and given than NSW makes up one third of the national economy, it is good news for Australia,” said Stephen Cartwright, CEO of NSW Business Chamber.
