The Lithgow Business Association Mission: “Growing
Regional Business”
Introduction
The Lithgow Business Association Incorporated was incorporated in
1996 as the Greater City of Lithgow Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Incorporated.
In March 2004, the Executive Committee of
the Lithgow Chamber of Commerce met to reconsider its’ approach to the Lithgow Business Community.
At this point in time, whilst there had been a considerable amount
of interest and growth in the Lithgow region in recent times, the membership
was only (XXX). The Executive knew it was time to make considerable
changes to facilitate the now diverse business needs of its’ business
community.
With a new mission statement “Growing Regional Business” and
a new name, Lithgow Business Association Incorporated, the Executive
set out to identify its’ role within the Lithgow Business Community.
Scope
First on the agenda was the need to focus
on the definition of “Lithgow
Business Community”. A map of the Lithgow area identified 23
towns and villages that come together to form the city of Lithgow.
Therein followed a commitment to involving every business in every
town and village. The revamping of the LBA also meant a total revision
of the image of the association to bring it into the 21st Century in
order to showcase the progress that Lithgow has made in regional commerce.
Planning
The increasing intensity of enthusiasm with the LBA executive generated
new ideas and the decision to remodel the annual Lithgow Business Awards
was made as part of that redevelopment.
Integration of the region as a commercial hub has been engendered
by the creation of a corporate logo based on the Lithgow area map.
The logo includes the towns and villages of the region and this logo
will be used on all correspondence for the upcoming Lithgow Business
Awards.
A new website, www.lithgowbusiness.com.au
and newsletter will be part of an ambitious plan to revitalize the
Lithgow Business Awards. The
Awards will occur on 24th July 2004, allowing the LBA and its’ Awards
sub-committee to launch the new Association in advance.
Membership
Any Business Association is only as strong
as its’ Membership
and the LBA is committed to fostering the growth of the membership
with a view to including every business in the Lithgow region. A strong
Membership provides a valuable Information Network, from which our
Members can draw on a wide range of experience and in turn, make their
own valuable contribution.
Our Vision is to provide diverse services to our Members through our
Website and Newsletter and ongoing informative workshops and conferences,
and to contribute to the overall recognition of the region as being
the commercial hub of the central west..
We are committed to Growing our Regional Business through networking
and supporting our Business Community to achieve business success.
