The Annual General Meeting for the Lithgow Business Association is to be held:

WHAT A SUCCESS
The interest in the upcoming Lithgow Council elections was very evident last Thursday night, 16.8.2012, when approximately 150 people packed the auditorium of Club Lithgow to attend a "Meet The Candidates" evening, hosted by the Lithgow Business Association.
Invitations were extended to all 40 candidates standing for election. We received 28 acceptances, and of these, 21 addressed the audience.
Whilst this was a pleasing result, it was also disappointing that the remainder of the candidates failed to acknowledge the invitation. Also disappointing was the fact that one group failed to be represented at all on the evening.
Following the formal part of the evening, all in attendance took the opportunity to mingle over a light supper with the candidates and further discuss the issues that most affected them and our area.
As a result of this event, the Lithgow Business Association has received some very positive feedback and congratulations on taking the initiative to host such an important event.
We would like to thank, and acknowledge the support of the Lithgow Mercury, Radio 2LT and Radio 90.5 Ezy FM for the assistance they extended to us in promoting this event.

MEET THE CANDIDATES EVENING

With the local Council elections coming up, the Lithgow Business Association will be hosting a Meet The Candidates evening in the Auditorium of Club Lithgow on Thursday, 16th August, 2012, commencing at 6.30 pm for a 7.00 pm start.
Up to three candidates from each group, as well as any independents, will be given the opportunity to introduce themselves and put forward their aspirations and visions for the future development and growth of Lithgow and it's surrounding villages.
The evening will follow a set format, allowing each speaker two minutes to address the audience.
Following the formal part of the evening, candidates will be invited to take the opportunity to meet with the public and business owners to further discuss their visions for the L.G.A.
We have already received a very positiove response to this initiative and look forward to a successful evening.
